About The Indo-Korea Business Culture Center (IKBCC)

The IKBCC focuses on enhancing business and cultural relations between India and South Korea. The center was established in 2023. The IKBCC promotes cultural exchange and understanding between the two countries. 

According to the legend, Princess Suriratna, also known as Heo Hwang-ok, went to Korea in 48 AD, some 2000 years ago, and started the Karak Dynasty by marrying a local king. The then King of Ayodhya had a dream where God ordered him to send his 16-year-old daughter to South Korea to marry King Kim Suro. It is believed that Indian princessSuriratna married the South Korean king and started the Karak dynasty.Ayodhya, considered the oldest holy city of India, is best known as the birthplace of LordRam. It holds special significance for some South Koreans and many believe, they can trace their ancestry to the city. There is a rich spiritual, historical and cultural bonding betweenSouth Koreans with the city of Ayodhya.

Objectives of The Indo-Korea Business Culture Center (IKBCC)

This Relationship further gained more prominence when the South Korean first lady, Kim Jung-sook visited the ancient city of Ayodhya from 04 to 07 November 2018. 04 to 07 November, the first lady was the Chief Guest of the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh during Deepotsva (lighting of lamps) celebrations on November 6. She also attended a ceremony to unveil Queen Hwang-ok’s memorial on the west bank of the River Sarya in Ayodhyathat marked the start on the upgrade of the monument – a joint project between South Korea and India.
